More than 600 classes will be offered during Summer Session, keeping students on track for graduation 

The University is offering 630 courses, including 133 available online. All courses are either required in the respective majors, are electives in the respective majors or satisfy General Education requirements.

Financial Aid

Opportunities for financial aid will be available for many students in Summer 2019. Students who are eligible for State University Grants (SUG) will be eligible to have tuition paid for at least half-time enrollment in Summer 2019 classes. Undergraduates must enroll in 6 units to receive the SUG to cover tuition. Master’s students must enroll in at least 4 graduate units to receive a SUG.

Pell Grants and federal student loans may also be available for students with remaining eligibility. 

If you are financial aid eligible for Summer 2019, you will receive an email from the Office of Student Financial Aid regarding your award after adding courses. For more detailed information regarding Financial Aid for Summer 2019, please visit the Financial Aid website.

Summer Housing

Summer residents are housed in double-occupancy, two-bedroom apartments in the Towers at Centennial Square. Summer housing costs includes a required meal plan. A choice of two continuous dining plans in the City Eats dining Center, is available. Students may apply for on-campus housing for any or all summer sessions.

Summer housing is available to SF State students attending summer session classes. A minimum class requirement is included.

Summer students are also welcome to access the housing portal to apply for housing spaces and complete their housing license agreement contracts starting April 10, 2019 at 10 am PST.

The housing office offers a Modified Summer Schedule in the License Agreement to those students attending a program or courses that does not correspond to the scheduled R1 – R4 dates. For further questions, please contact SF State Housing at housing@sfsu.edu.

Application and License Agreement

Available on the SF State Housing Portal. Students must use SF State ID and password to log in. Choose “Summer 2019” term.

Required housing payments include a non-refundable $30 application fee. Summer housing fees are collected in advance at the time of submitting the License Agreement.
